Delete your account and data

Everything below can be done by you, inside the app. Nothing is queued: what you delete is deleted at once.

Delete your account

Open Sonaya, go to Profile, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm it is you — with your password, or with the same Google or Apple sign-in you created the account with. This protects the account from being deleted by someone else holding your phone. Confirming removes:

your account and the email address attached to it;
your voice recording and the synthetic voice built from it, including the copy held by our speech provider;
every meditation you created — the audio, the script, the words you wrote, and any name you gave it;
your listening history and preferences.

This happens immediately and cannot be undone. There is no waiting period and no way for us to restore the account afterwards.

Delete only your voice, and keep the account

In Profile you can withdraw your consent for voice processing. That erases your recording, the voice model and every meditation spoken with it, while the account itself stays: your email and purchase history remain, and you can record a new voice later if you want to. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it — you never have to delete the whole account to take your voice back.

If you used Sonaya without an account

The first meditation needs no account. If you stopped there, open Profile and choose to delete your data — the same erasure runs for the voice and the meditation stored on that device.

What we keep, and for how long

Three things outlive the account, none of them containing your voice, your meditations or the words you wrote:

Proof of consent — the record that you agreed to voice processing, and the record of any withdrawal or deletion request. Kept for three years from the day you delete or withdraw, because we have to be able to show that consent was given and honoured.
Subscription events — the log of what the app store told us about your subscription: an internal identifier, the product and the date. Kept for 90 days. Your card, your name and your receipts are held by Apple or Google, never by us.
Erasure log — if a file could not be removed on the first attempt, its storage address is written down so a cleanup job can finish the job. Entries are removed once closed.

Everything else goes with the account, immediately — including your sign-in sessions.

Can't reach the app?

Write to support@sonaya.ai from the address you signed up with, and we will delete the account for you. We answer by email and confirm once it is done.
