Accessibility statement
Last reviewed: 29 August 2026 · Self-assessment
1. Scope
This statement covers the Sonaya app for iOS and Android and the website sonaya.ai, both operated by Dinkel AI & Media Tech GmbH, Vienna. We want everyone to be able to use Sonaya, and we are working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA and the European standard EN 301 549, as required by the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz, BaFG).
2. Conformance status
Sonaya is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform. This assessment was made by us, not by an external auditor; an external review is planned.
What is in place today: text contrast at or above the AA ratio throughout; visible keyboard focus on the website; screen-reader labels on controls in the app; decorative animation that pauses when your system asks for reduced motion, and a manual pause control on the website; touch targets of at least 44 points in the app.
3. Known limitations
- Voice recording requires a microphone and speech. Sonaya's core feature is a meditation spoken in your own voice; there is currently no alternative path that works without recording your voice.
- Meditations are audio. The text of a meditation is not yet shown in the app while it plays, so there is no text alternative for the spoken content at this time.
- Screen-reader coverage in the app is not yet complete. Some screens have been checked with VoiceOver and TalkBack; others have not. We are working through them.
- The website has not yet been tested with all assistive technologies.
4. Report a barrier
If you find something in the app or on this website that you cannot use, or that could be made easier, please tell us: support@sonaya.ai. Describe what you tried, which device and assistive technology you use, and what happened. We answer by email, and we treat accessibility reports as priority issues.
5. Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the competent body in Austria for accessibility complaints under the Barrierefreiheitsgesetz: the Sozialministeriumservice (Bundesamt für Soziales und Behindertenwesen), sozialministeriumservice.at.
